friend sent me a 1992 iO team lineup

Check out “Victim’s Family” and “Corkys Callback.” Good lord.

I’m also loving “Josh Brewster” on “Scared Scriptless.” Not to be confused with the illustrious member of my own iO harold team, John Brewster.

Text reblogged from all the latest moves

i love surprises

allthelatestmoves:

And I was so surprised tonight!

My friends are great.

They set up a night for us at The Creek and I was expecting to do an improv show and hang out, but lo and behold:

The Story Pirates performed a story I wrote when I was 9 years old, called “Three freinds in California” [sic] and I had no idea they would be there. I cried harder than when the bus moves on Extreme Home Makeover.

About 15 fabulous Chicago improvisers were secretly invited and we did a super fun set together.

M.A.D. did a hilarious set as well.

Boys Club ended the night with some ridiculous nonsense and it was just the best time ever. I’m hoarse.

My friends are amazing. I am going to miss New York.

This happened and it was fun. My roommate is moving away. Barf.

My comedy besties Sidecar made a super sweet video for a division of my comedy workplace, Atom.

I am hugely impressed by the art direction. Check out that period lamp, those bottles and that creepy milk truck. You boys.

carolinek:

I can’t believe it is taking this article to make people realize the lack of female comedy writers on late night. I have this discussion with my friends every time the Emmy’s is on and they list off those like 60 names of nominees. This year 2 were women and they both wrote for Comedy Central. One for Jon Stewart and one for Colbert.

lookmom:

At this moment, there are more females serving on the United States Supreme Court than there are writing for Late Show with David Letterman, The Jay Leno Show, and The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien combined. Out of the 50 or so comedy writers working on these programs, exactly zero are women. It would be funny if it weren’t true.

I feel an OVERWHELMING NEED to point out that there are MANY female comedy writers, producers, and showrunners in television that I see and meet every day. Many of them are staffed on shows that are respected by real live comedians — SNL, TCR, TDS, Important Things with Demetri Martin, Michael and Michael Have Issues, The Office, 30 Rock (helllloooooo!), Fallon —- Kimmel’s head writer is a female.

It is either dumb or ridiculous to whine that no female comedy writers have “made it” when there are plenty of successful ones.

I was just pointing out that it’s interesting that late night is all dicked up.

Also, self loathing and yelling victim ain’t gonna help no one.
