Here’s my 2 AM aquisition.
Story:
Did show at 10pm.
At 11:30pm drove with Rob to Abra’s on Upper East Side to purchase (for almost nothing) and pick up old wood buffet table that I have coveted for over a year.
At 12:30am(ish) Abra and I wrestle buffet into elevator. Then get church giggles, because it’s late and the old neighbors are sleeping and we are making a racket.
At 12:45am, we try to fit buffet into Rob’s car.
At 12:45am, it starts raining.
At 1am we give up on trying to shove this behemoth into Rob’s car.
1:15, hail SUV cab. Put seats down, shove in furniture. I ride alone in front seat with cabbie, Rob drives his car home.
1:15-2:00 I become best friends with Doro, Romanian cab driver. He hates gay people, black people, Democrats, Jon Stewart. He was Paul Newman’s limo driver. He is stresssssing me ouuuuuut.
2:00 (AM) Rob and I haul this to my fourth floor apartment, roomies and houseguest wake up, everyone wants to know why I apparently spew forth furniture like farts in the wind. I just do.
And that’s that. Here it is, freshly moved into my room, with my stuff piled on.
