Hello.
I work in comedy tv.
I force myself to twitter.
I perform comedy on stage.
I live in Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn, New York.
This started as a place for me to show my Mom things that are pretty for homes.
If you would like to see where the pictures on this tumblr came from, just click on the photo. I probably didn't take the photo.

I’m in the market for some not-blue industrial shelving, if you happen to have any hanging around your house. 34” wide, and very tall please.
Remaining things to do in this house:
1. shelving, what I just said
2. bedside table
3. replace all the ceiling light fixtures
4. replace shower curtains
5. end table
7. mourn loss of current roommate to Los Angeles

Are Wednesday’s becoming my special night at home? Maybe.
In the vein of last Wednesday’s agenda, here’s what’s up tonight:
1. Made giant avocado salad with balsamic vinegar and basil.
2. Watching Amelie, more or less for the first time (The legitimate first time I was 16 and wasted beyond the point of being able to follow at all. Then it became so popular that I swore I wouldn’t like it because it *everybody* liked it. Typical. I’m over that attitude.)
3. PB&J on toast. PB&J is not a sandwich, it’s a dessert.
4. World of Interiors, Vogue Living Australia and House Beautiful. Right here in my bed. These are the only shelter mags worth a look these days.
Time to watch! Wish me luck?

After Miro and I went to check out that apartment (it was horrific), we had dinner’s at Teresa’s Restaurant on Montague (Polish!), walked all around Brooklyn Heights and peeped into lit windows of mansions.
I got home and read My Favorite Color is Shiny; she posts her gratitudes on her blog. Here are mine for tonight.
Things I am Thankful For:
1. Brooklyn Heights. Look I just won’t stop. I’m not going to shut up about this neighborhood. I feel ridiculously lucky to be moving there. It is old and beautiful and my street is made of cobblestones. May I highlight The Promenade? (pictured above) Breezy tonight. I kept giggling and babbling about how much I love New York. Just pure stupid babble. Best free entertainment in the city.
2. This picture of cats. I am still laughing.
3. “Peeping mansions.” This is when I walk around the most beautiful neighborhoods of NYC and Brooklyn and stare into the windows like a creepy person. I especially like to make my friends do this with me. Once Abra and D’Arcy and I drunkenly peeped mansions in the West Village and got caught by the brownstone’s owner. He was the drummer for Bad Company. He was into it.
4. Emails from my mom. Every once in a while she will write me a novel that I like to read on the train. Tonight, out of the blue, she detailed every job that she had between high school and when I was born. If you’re wondering, her jobs have included: secretary, pharmacist, medical illustrator (!!!!!!), fertility research, admin at UNC Tarheel Stadium, water ballet teacher (!!!!!!!), foster kid counselor, and sporting goods store owner. Now she’s a teacher. I didn’t know half of those.
5. Career advice from people who are probably too busy and important to give me career advice. It’s been a good week for that. I am in awe of how generous the people I work for and with have been with their time and insight. Makes me feel good about the comedy/tv business.
Bonus: My friends are swell, all of them.

I am more than halfway through tonight’s list.
However, the people must know that I traded cookies and milk for… dinner.
Just deal.

Today is rainy and soggy and… just dank.
I am going to pretend that I bought myself these flowers and make a list of economical things I will do at home tonight.
1. Ella Fitzgerald & Duke Ellington Pandora
2. wash my gentle-clothes in the tub
3. cheap mud mask
4. call my parents and paint my toes
5. have a dinner of wine, bread, cheese, olives and almonds
6. doodle ideas and floorplans for my new apartment with colored pencils in my giant Moleskine
Bonus: I’m lighting my best-smelling candle. (I have an extensive collection)
Basically I am pretending I am in a romantic comedy. Rainy day, prewar NYC apartment, big windows, good music, good light. Not too shabby, right?

I am basically only interested in:
1. Mad Men
2. Beth Ditto interviews
3. chili
4. air conditioning
Life is pretty great.
