Hello.
I work in comedy tv.
I force myself to twitter.
I perform comedy on stage.
I live in Brooklyn Heights, Brooklyn, New York.
This started as a place for me to show my Mom things that are pretty for homes.

I am aware that I am a difficult person to live with. I am picky as hell about the most mundane things and it takes me 6 months to make decisions. Why would I go to Duane Reade and buy a boring, ugly, crappy broom when I can contemplate ordering this one from Scotland for six months? These things bring me joy.
As a result, my apartment currently houses no less than 12 antique mirrors but I still do not own an acceptable broom, dustpan, paper towel/toilet paper holder, microwave, wooden spoon, step stool, vacuum cleaner, ceiling light fixture or *trash can.
Somehow, at the same time, I am a monster slob and do not mind my own mess. I let clothes and papers pile up. My floor is made of jeans, shirts, scripts and magazines.
The other day I was forced to act fast with the purchase of a nicely designed household item. My new roommate is not satisfied with my dishrack. I got it at Brooklyn Kitchen; it’s wood, handmade in Vermont, and does not actually hold any dishes at all. They slide off and break on the floor. Every day. It does look nice though.
Rather than allow her to contribute to the household, I sent a freakishly anxious email and assured her that I would “pick one up from WIlliams Sonoma on my way home.” For an absurd amount of money. A dishrack. I am a nut.
Anyway. If you feel similar tendencies, I have to recommend Remodelista as a resource for these sorts of things. They have an extensive international, high-to-low catalog of everything from grills to tile to dishsoap. It could save you 6 months of googling “broom.”
*For the record, Lauren took her fancy trash can to LA and I am buying a new one this weekend. God bless.
